Allendale-Fairfax extended the longest winning streak in A Region V this week by beating Estill, 32-30. The victory was the seventh in a row for the Tigers.
Allendale-Fairfax and the Fighting Gators played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Allendale-Fairfax eventually emerging with a 32-30 victory. Solomon McCormick threw for 43 yards and ran for 139 yards in the win.
Whale Branch's dynamic duo of Brandon Morton and Devonta Delaney proved tough for Bethune-Bowman to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Morton threw for 95 yards and two touchdowns and Delaney had 81 yards receiving. Terrell Hazel helped Whale Branch's passing attack out by catching two balls for 23 yards.
Xavier Reid was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 182 yards as Denmark-Olar defeated the Mohawks. Lavonte DeLoach also contributed to the rushing game with 66 yards on the ground.
Whale Branch's Morton and Delaney have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading A Region V in both passing and receiving yards. Morton has thrown for 526 yards this season, while Delaney, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 18 catches for 551 yards. Brandon Jordan from Eddie Ford's team leads the league in rushing with 750 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Jerry Hatcher's team takes on Branchville. The Warriors are in second place, while the Yellowjackets are in fifth place.
Whale Branch took down Bethune-Bowman 53-6 last week, the largest margin of any game. Morton in the win.
