Overland led 5A Centennial in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on Smoky Hill. Austin Conway threw for 52 yards and one touchdown and ran for 190 yards in the win.
Grandview's dynamic duo of Reece Weber and Tanner Gentry proved tough for Cherry Creek to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Weber threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns and Gentry had 145 yards receiving. Daijhawn Williams helped Grandview's passing attack out by catching three balls for 136 yards.
Robert Holtam made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Wolves beat the Bruins. The 6-foot-0 senior grabbed three sacks.
Grandview's Weber and Gentry have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Weber has thrown for 1346 yards this season, while Gentry, a 6-foot-3 receiver, has 38 catches for 825 yards. Tahj Willingham from Cherry Creek leads the league in rushing with 1128 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Cherokee Trail takes on second place Overland. Cherokee Trail beat Eaglecrest last week, while the Trailblazers bested the Buffaloes.
Overland made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,481 from 3,136. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 42-13 victory over Smoky Hill last week.
