On Friday Tyler Holmes struck out 12 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). The effort marked the most strikeouts Holmes has had since back in February. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his fifth in a row with less than one earned run. For the year, he has an ERA of .93 over 22.7 innings pitched.
