After some red-hot offensive attacks in their last three matchups, The Woodside Wildcats finally came back down to earth on Friday. They were outmatched by Los Altos on the road and fell 35-7. Woodside was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-7.
Tony Dearing threw for 61 yards on five of 14 attempts. Oliver Lyssand was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards. On the ground, Antonio Zamorano rushed for 71 yards on only seven carries.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Los Altos to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maxime Morelle, who rushed for 84 yards and three touchdowns. Los Altos also got help from Andrew Campos who showed off his sure hands for 131 receiving yards.
Woodside's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Los Altos, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Woodside will head out on the road to face off against Milpitas at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in California (Milpitas is ranked 482nd, while Woodside is ranked 506th). As for Los Altos, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Mountain View has struggled recently with four losses in a row, while Los Altos will arrive with three straight wins.
