After two weeks on the road, Emerson-Hubbard is heading back home. On Friday they will take on Clarkson/Leigh at 7:00 PM. Clarkson/Leigh will need to watch out since Emerson-Hubbard have now posted big point totals in their last five contests.
Emerson-Hubbard put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season last Friday. They blew past Pender 58-26. Senior Nolan Ostrand and junior Nolan Belt were among the main playmakers for Emerson-Hubbard as the former rushed for 95 yards and 2 touchdowns and the latter rushed for 54 yards and 2 touchdowns. Belt has now scored at least one touchdown in the past seven games.
Meanwhile, Clarkson/Leigh might be getting used to good results now that the squad has five wins in a row. They put a hurting on Mead to the tune of 54-16. The Clarkson/Leigh offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the contest anyway.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 5-2. Since neither squad is a stranger to landslide victories this season, you'd better bet it will be hard-fought showdown.
