After flying high against the Forest Park Panthers last Friday, the Lovejoy Wildcats came back down to earth. Lovejoy took a 51-32 bruising from the Bulldogs on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Lovejoy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 383rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 84th).
Rockdale County's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tre?Miyah Berry, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamya Bryant, who scored 16 points.
Lovejoy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Rockdale County, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Jonesboro the next time they take the court. Rockdale County will host Jonesboro at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Lovejoy will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
