The King Cove T-Jacks and Rookies stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Lumen Christi with a sharp 75-49 win. The win was just business as usual for King Cove, who after ten games remain undefeated this season.
Jager Brandell was his usual excellent self, scoring 32 points. He has been hot recently, having posted 21 or more points the last four times he's played. Brennen Larsen was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
King Cove's win was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 33 points. As for Lumen Christi, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.
King Cove's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Rams at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. Susitna Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Alaska Rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while the T-Jacks and Rookies are ranked 19th). As for Lumen Christi, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Eagles/Lady Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on January 31st. Hopefully Sand Point focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 last Saturday.
