3A Region IV District 27 recap Sept. 26, 2012
Fredericksburg moved up to 554 from 836 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 3A Region IV District 27. The Billies climbed the ranks as a result of a 22-19 win over Lampasas.
Navarro took down Marion 48-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Lj Anderson ran for 167 yards and caught one passes for nine yards in the win.
Canyon Lake's dynamic duo of Branson Belcher and Daniel Camarillo proved tough for Burnet to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Belcher threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns and Camarillo had 125 yards receiving. Doug Hubnik helped Canyon Lake's passing attack out by catching three balls for 66 yards.
MICHAEL MILLER provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Bandera defeated Comfort. He completed 10 passes for 216 yards and also ran for 154 yards. MILLER's favorite target this week was NOAH NELSON, who caught three passes for 70 yards.
Canyon Lake's Belcher and Camarillo have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Belcher has thrown for 669 yards this season, while Camarillo has 18 catches for 402 yards. The Bulldogs' MILLER leads the league in rushing yards with 571.
Fredericksburg and the Badgers played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Fredericksburg eventually emerging with a 22-19 victory. Kyle Grona threw for 99 yards and one touchdown and ran for four yards in the win.
