The Maryville Spoofhounds will challenge the Lafayette Fighting Irish at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Maryville made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Savannah, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Spoofhounds were the clear victors by an 11-5 margin over the Savages on Tuesday. The game was the first time the Spoofhounds have beaten the Savages on their field since April 11, 2023.

The team relied heavily on Carson Hageman, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gavin McAtee, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Maryville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 games they've averaged 9.
Meanwhile, Lafayette was not the first on the board last Monday, but they got there more often. They walked away with an 8-3 win over East Buchanan. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Fighting Irish.
Halen Jonas made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Lafayette is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 0-11 otherwise. Jonas was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, Ayden Hardy was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
Maryville's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Lafayette, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-12.
