The Liberty Hurricanes won the last time they faced the Easton Area Rovers, and things went their way on Wednesday too. Liberty enjoyed a cozy 62-48 win over Easton Area. Given Liberty's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while Easton Area is ranked 372nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Easton Area's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Shollenberger, who scored 14 points. Shollenberger continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Andrew Hoadley was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Liberty and bumps their season record up to 8-3. As for Easton Area, their loss was their fifth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 4-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty will challenge Muhlenberg at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Easton Area, they will head out on the road to face off against Nazareth Area at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
