After a string of four wins, St. Mary's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 58-37 walloping at the hands of Athens Christian Preparatory Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss St. Mary's has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, St. Mary's still got an impressive performance from Taylor Darnell, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Darnell hasn't dropped below two blocks for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Brennan Billodeux, who scored 11 points.
St. Mary's struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Athens Christian Preparatory Academy racked up 17 assists.
It was another big night for Landry Gammon, who scored 27 points along with nine rebounds and six assists for Athens Christian Preparatory Academy. That makes it three consecutive games in which Gammon has scored at least a third of Athens Christian Preparatory Academy's points. Mitchell Koerth was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
St. Mary's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Athens Christian Preparatory Academy, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6.
