This season hasn't been kind to the Geibel Catholic Gators, who are still winless after their ninth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 67-34 loss at the hands of Keystone Oaks. Geibel Catholic lost against Keystone Oaks in their previous head to head back in December of 2021, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 95-86 score last time.
Despite the loss, Geibel Catholic saw an underclassman step up: Gary Tarbuk scored 25 points. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Tommy Kolencik, who scored five points along with ten rebounds.
Geibel Catholic's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-9. As for Keystone Oaks, their win bumped their record up to 3-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Geibel Catholic and Monessen will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Monessen is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last five games. As for Keystone Oaks, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against South Park at 5:30 p.m. South Park presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Keystone Oaks in Pennsylvania (South Park is ranked 261st, while Keystone Oaks is ranked 560th).
