The Skidmore-Tynan Bobcats won the last time they faced the Refugio Bobcats, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Skidmore-Tynan blew past Refugio 65-36 at home. With that win, Skidmore-Tynan brought their scoring average up to 50.8 points per game.
Cole Rivers was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 36 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Skidmore-Tynan's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Bennett Martinez, who scored eight points along with eight assists and six rebounds.
Skidmore-Tynan pushed their record up to 14-2 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.3 points per game. As for Refugio, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-1.
Skidmore-Tynan will head out on the road to face off against Mathis at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Refugio will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Woodsboro at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
