Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bishop Hartley). They blew past the Whetstone Braves 19-5 on Tuesday. Bishop Hartley let Morgan Bailey and Chelsea Gautier run wild. Bailey went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs, while Gautier went 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and three RBI. Those two triples gave Gautier a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Ziegler, who went 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.
Bishop Hartley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Whetstone only posted an OBP of .385.
Bishop Hartley's victory bumped their record up to 7-2. As for Whetstone, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Coming up, Bishop Hartley will head out on the road to square off against Bishop Watterson at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The game will give the Hawks their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Whetstone, they will host Northland at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
