It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Littlefield Wildcats can now relate to. They took a serious blow against Canadian on Thursday, falling 65-7. While losing is never fun, Littlefield can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 648th, while Canadian is ranked 92nd).
Chip Green threw for 32 yards on four of 16 attempts.
Camren Cavalier was a one-man wrecking crew for Canadian as he threw for 320 yards and six touchdowns while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also punched in three touchdowns on the ground. Cavalier hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. Max Dumbauld was in the mix too, providing Canadian with two touchdowns.
Littlefield are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-5. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 8-3 Roosevelt and 7-4 Idalou (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 70.5% over those games). As for Canadian, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.
Littlefield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Canadian will be playing at home against Early at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. Early is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
