Lowry's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Britain Backus, who scored 21 points along with five assists and five rebounds, and Savannah Stoker, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which Backus has scored at least a third of Lowry's points.
Meanwhile, Fernley stacked a 19th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Churchill County on the road to the tune of 53-24.
Lowry is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Fernley, their victory bumped their record up to 25-1.
Things could have been worse for Lowry, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-52 loss to Fernley when the teams last played back in January.
