After flying high against the Lockney Longhorns last Tuesday, the Hale Center Owls came back down to earth. Hale Center fell to Floydada 79-73. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Floydada to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sergio Valadez, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Hagen Hinsley was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 15 rebounds.
Hale Center's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-9. As for Floydada, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season.
Hale Center will head out on the road to face off against Ralls at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Hale Center has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 368 points over their last five matches. As for Floydada, they will be playing at home against Sudan at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Sudan will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 1000th, while Floydada is ranked 425th).
