Overbrook has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Overbrook beat Abraham Lincoln 59-50.
Overbrook's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Omar Davis, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 steals. Davis is absolutely dominating the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Nasir Kelly was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, even though Norristown scored an imposing 72 points on Saturday, Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech still came out on top. Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech walked away with an 81-72 victory over Norristown. Winning may never get old, but Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Haneef Davis out in front who scored 19 points. Davis continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Saleem Hudson, who scored 18 points.
Overbrook is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 11-5.
Overbrook ended up a good deal behind Murrell Dobbins Vo-Tech when the teams last played back in February of 2023, losing 71-57. Thankfully for Overbrook, Kareem Diaz (who scored 21 points along with five rebounds and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
