Baseball Recap: Penn Manor Makes It Four in a Row on the Road

Penn Manor was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Ephrata on Wednesday. The Comets put the hurt on the Mountaineers with a sharp 8-2 win. The game was the first time the Comets have beaten the Mountaineers on their field since April 17, 2017.

Oliver Hanna was excellent, going 1-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. Ethan Transue was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

Penn Manor's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-7. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Ephrata, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

Looking ahead, Penn Manor will square off against Central York at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ephrata, they will take on J.P. McCaskey at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Mountaineers are facing the Red Tornado at the right time seeing as the Red Tornado are stuck on a 13-game losing streak.
