The Potlatch Loggers will take on the Bonners Ferry Badgers at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bonners Ferry will be up against a hot Potlatch team: the squad just extended their winning streak to seven. Everything went the Loggers' way against Genesee on Thursday as they made off with a 12-6 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Loggers have posted against the Bulldogs since May 2, 2023.
Potlatch got a great performance from Brieanna Winther as she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.1 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Jaida Andres was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. Andres is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Kylie Heitstuman was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.
Potlatch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Bonners Ferry got the win against Kellogg on Thursday by a conclusive 17-7. That's two games straight that the Badgers have won by exactly ten runs.
Ryelle Short was incredible, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, six stolen bases, and four runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Frederickson, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with seven stolen bases and three runs.
Potlatch's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average this season. As for Bonners Ferry, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Bonners Ferry's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Potlatch has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game.
