After having lost a blowout in their contest last week, Apponequet Regional were happy to find some success on Friday. They won a matchup that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by Somerset Berkley Regional 20-19. The tight race was right in line with the MaxPreps state rankings' forecast.
The win got Apponequet Regional back to even at 3-3. Somerset Berkley Regional are on a three-game losing streak that has brought their record down to 2-3.
Both teams will be heading out of the conference in their next games. Apponequet Regional will have some time to rest before their next game, which is against Old Rochester Regional in six weeks at 10:00 AM. Somerset Berkley Regional will be staying on the road next week, facing off against Fairhaven. Those two teams have had a rocky road up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
