North Central is 1-9 against Bloomfield since January of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The North Central Thunderbirds will head out on the road to take on the Bloomfield Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (North Central has three straight victories, Bloomfield has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Saturday, in a tight match that could have gone either way, North Central made off with a 54-53 win over North Vermillion.
North Central's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ethan Willis, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jaden Hooper, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Bloomfield was just a bucket shy of victory on Saturday and fell 44-43 to Loogootee.
North Central's victory bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Bloomfield, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-7.
North Central took a serious blow against Bloomfield in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 68-38. Can North Central avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
