The Fulshear Chargers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 25 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Fort Bend Willowridge 57-28 on the road. The win was a breath of fresh air for Fulshear as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.
It was another big night for Ruke Ogbevire, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Fulshear's points. Sophia Semmler was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five rebounds.
Fulshear pushed their record up to 17-5 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.0 points per game. As for Fort Bend Willowridge, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 19-7.
Fulshear will take on Fort Bend Kempner at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fort Bend Kempner will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 922nd, while Fulshear is ranked 102nd). As for Fort Bend Willowridge, they will head out on the road to face off against Lamar Consolidated at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Lamar Consolidated focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 49 on Friday.
