The Cherry Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 70-31 loss at the hands of Cromwell. While losing is never fun, Cherry can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while Cromwell is ranked 105th).
It was another big night for Isabella Anderson, who scored 21 points along with seven steals for Cromwell. Anderson hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Emaleigh Olesiak, who scored 16 points along with two steals.
Cherry's defeat dropped their record down to 9-14. As for Cromwell, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cherry will square off against Nashwauk-Keewatin at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Cromwell, they will head out on the road to face off against Pine River-Backus at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Cromwell focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Monday.
