The Franklin Flyers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 12th straight loss. They took a 42-31 hit to the loss column at the hands of Blue Hill. Franklin was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Blue Hill apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Franklin lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Eldon Haack, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and three steals. Haack hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Caiden Peterman was another key contributor, scoring five points along with two steals.
Franklin struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They are winless (0-4) when they can't control their own glass like that.
Franklin's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Blue Hill, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Franklin will face off against Wilcox-Hildreth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wilcox-Hildreth has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29. As for Blue Hill, they will head out on the road to face off against Shelton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Shelton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Tuesday.
