Glen Ridge was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Waldwick/Midland Park by a score of 33-26. The win was just what Glen Ridge needed coming off of a 52-7 defeat in their prior contest.
Meanwhile, Cedar Grove didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Shabazz on Friday, but they still walked away with a 32-26 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cedar Grove.
Cedar Grove relied on the efforts of Stephen Paradiso, who threw for 292 yards and a touchdown, and Nicholas Iannacone, who picked up 184 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Cedar Grove also got help from Jackson Morrice who showed off his sure hands for 97 receiving yards.
Glen Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Cedar Grove, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
Glen Ridge was dealt a bruising 44-6 defeat at the hands of Cedar Grove when the teams last played back in September. Can Glen Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
