On Thursday, Quaboag Regional came up short against Uxbridge and fell 49-41. Quaboag Regional has struggled against Uxbridge recently, as their matchup on Thursday was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Ayer Shirley entered their tilt with Gardner with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Ayer Shirley put the hurt on Gardner with a sharp 68-48 victory on Tuesday. Given Ayer Shirley's advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Gardner is ranked 65th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Quaboag Regional's defeat was their third straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-1. As for Ayer Shirley, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
