Basketball Recap: Elbert Snags 12th Win in Last 13 Games

There's no place like home for Elbert, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They blew past the Rocky Mountain Lutheran Eagles 64-38 on Thursday. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blake Harris, who went 6-for-13 en route to 18 points and five boards. Harris is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last nine games he's played. Another player making a difference was Zack Rice, who went 5-for-6 on his way to 10 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Elbert is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Rocky Mountain Lutheran and nudges their season record down to 5-14.

Looking ahead, Elbert won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Denver Waldorf at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Denver Waldorf is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.9 points per game this season. As for Rocky Mountain Lutheran, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hi-Plains at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
