The Wright City Lumberjax came tearing into Saturday's match with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 26.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They managed a 62-57 win over Oktaha. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Kase Lindly was his usual excellent self, scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. The contest was his tenth in a row with at least ten points. Conner Green was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Wright City's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. As for Oktaha, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 7-3.
Wright City and Haworth will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Haworth will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oklahoma Rankings (they are ranked 205th, while Wright City is ranked 91st). As for Oktaha, they will be playing at home against Okay at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
