After flying high against the UME Preparatory Academy EAGLES last Friday, The Founders Classical Academy Eagles came back down to earth. Founders Classical Academy was dealt a 48-18 loss at the hands of Shelton on Friday. Founders Classical Academy has struggled against Shelton recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Leading Shelton to victory were Taylor Ogden and Zayd Shaheed. Ogden rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries, while Shaheed rushed for 278 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 13.9 yards per carry. Shaheed was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 60 yards.
Founders Classical Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Shelton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.
Founders Classical Academy will be playing at home against Newman International Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Newman International Academy is hoping to put an end to a six-game streak of away losses. As for Shelton, they will head out on the road to face off against John Paul II at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
