Methacton and Boyertown are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Warriors will head out to challenge the Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Methacton will be strutting in after a win while Boyertown will be coming in after a defeat.
Methacton was handed a seven-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Upper Perkiomen 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted against the Indians since May 10, 2021.

Sadie Fitch was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games she's played.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sydney Hockenbrock, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Kaitlin Pettine also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Methacton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .406. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upper Perkiomen only posted a batting average of .115.
Meanwhile, Boyertown suffered their closest defeat since March 18th on Monday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (7-5), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time.
Jenna Fox was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double. Lindsay Mathias was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run and one double.
Methacton's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Boyertown, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-7.
Methacton beat Boyertown 6-1 when the teams last played on April 1st. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
