The Northside Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to Shaw. While losing is never fun, Northside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 445th, while Shaw is ranked 204th).
Despite the loss, Northside still got an impressive performance from Barrington Adams, who scored 22 points. The match was Adams' fourth in a row with at least ten points. Tycen Ragland was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Northside's loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-7. As for Shaw, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.
Northside will finish 2023 at home by hosting Shaw at 3:30 p.m. on December 29th. Shaw won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Carver at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. Carver is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
