Douglass has been on the road for ten straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the KIPP Collegiate phoenix at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Douglass has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,054 points over their last 14 contests.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Douglass beat Coahoma County 56-50. Given Douglass' advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked tenth in Tennessee, while Coahoma County is ranked 48th in Mississippi), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to KIPP Collegiate, who are still winless after their 11th match. They were dealt a 96-46 defeat at the hands of Power Center Academy on Tuesday. KIPP Collegiate has struggled against Power Center Academy recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Douglass pushed their record up to 14-0 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for KIPP Collegiate, they have fallen quite a ways from their 22-6 record last season and are now at 0-11.
