The Westosha Central Falcons will face off against the Elkhorn Elks at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Westosha Central will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Westosha Central took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Waukesha West by a score of 6-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Olin Leafblad looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Westosha Central let Nolan Woltersdorf and Nathan Corey run wild. Woltersdorf went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI, while Corey went 1-for-2 with three RBI. Those three RBI gave Corey a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Fuchs, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Elkhorn waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 12-5 win. With that victory, the Elks brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.
Derrik Beckstrand made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Keegan Bryant looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has become a key player for Elkhorn: the team is 4-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 1-2 otherwise.
Back at the plate, Romeo Morales and Ethan Woller did most of the damage at the plate: Morales went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double, while Woller went 2-for-5 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. Woller is becoming a predictor of Elkhorn's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-3 when he doesn't). Logan Cutshall was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Elkhorn was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive games.
Westosha Central now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Elkhorn, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Westosha Central hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .334. However, it's not like Elkhorn struggles in that department as they've averaged .315. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Westosha Central might still be hurting after the 12-5 defeat they got from Elkhorn in their previous meeting on Tuesday. Will the Falcons have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
