It was a good run, but Inland Lakes unfortunately witnessed the end of their nine-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 51-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the St. Mary Cathedral Snowbirds. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Snowbirds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Inland Lakes' defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 9-2. As for St. Mary Cathedral, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Inland Lakes and St. Mary Cathedral should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings. Inland Lakes will take on Pickford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday up 168 places (89 vs. 257). Inland Lakes is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road dating back to last season. Meanwhile, St. Mary Cathedral (ranked 95th) will meet Forest Area (ranked 576th) at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
