In what's become a running theme this season, the Escambia County Blue Devils gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They blew past Satsuma, posting a 56-24 win at home. Given Escambia County's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 149th, while Satsuma is ranked 453rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Stephen Williams, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. Williams is absolutely dominating the block category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Jovaughnta Henderson was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with two steals.
Escambia County is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Satsuma, they bumped their record down to 1-17 with that loss, which was their 19th straight on the road.
Escambia County will be playing at home against Jackson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Jackson is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. Satsuma on the road again on Friday and play against T.R. Miller at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully T.R. Miller focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Thursday.
