Make it six blowout wins for the East Tech Scarabs this season. They blew past John Adams 66-46. The win was familiar territory for East Tech who now have three in a row.
East Tech had a senior duo take command as Demetrius Lawrence dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds and Amani Mitchell scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Mitchell also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Chris Simon, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and two steals.
East Tech has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. As for John Adams, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Tech will take on Glenville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Glenville is on a six-game streak of home wins, East Tech a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for John Adams, they will head out on the road to challenge Campus International at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Campus International comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
