Softball Recap: Temple Christian Comes Up Short

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last four times Temple Christian and Trinity Christian have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Monday. Temple Christian came up short against Trinity Christian, falling 15-5. Temple Christian has struggled against Trinity Christian recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Temple Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Avery McElligott, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two triples gave McElligott a new career-high. Briley Esskew was another, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.

Temple Christian now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Trinity Christian, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

While Temple Christian had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
