It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Richland had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Hanford Falcons. The result was nothing new for the Bombers, who have now won 18 matches by six runs or more so far this season.
Sophia Sams was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Brannon, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
Richland hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in 20 consecutive games.
Richland's victory bumped their record up to 24-2. As for Hanford, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 22-7.
