After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Sam Houston, Iowa was happy to have turned things around  on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the LaGrange Gators  a   16-0 shutout. Considering the Yellowjackets have won 19 matchups by more than five  runs this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Emily Fink looked comfortable as she  struck out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits (and not a single walk). Those  six  strikeouts gave  her a new career-high.
 At the plate,  Morgan Henry was  incredible,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 2-for-2.  Andie Huval was another key player,  scoring three  runs while  getting on base  in all three of her plate appearances.
 Iowa was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .615. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a  batting average of .310 or higher in six consecutive  games.
Iowa is  on a roll lately: they've  won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record  this season. The  wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for LaGrange, they dropped their record down to 2-13 with the  loss, which was their 14th straight  on the road dating back to last season.
 Coming up, Iowa will head out to  challenge Kinder  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. As for LaGrange, they will be playing at home against Westminster Christian Academy  at 5:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. The Chargers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.25  runs per game on average), something the Gators will no doubt try to take advantage of.
