Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Needles walked away with it. They blew past the White Pine Bobcats 10-0 on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won 21 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.
Audrina Bullchild made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Liana DeLeon was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Emmerson Powell, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI.
Needles always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as White Pine only posted an OBP of .286.
Needles has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 22 of their last 23 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for White Pine, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-15.
As of now, neither Needles nor the Bobcats have any future games scheduled.
