The NC GBB Academy National Eagles pushed their score all the way to 56 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 74-56 fall against Life Center Academy. NC GBB Academy National has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Tia Bryant, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bryant has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Madison Pounds, who scored 18 points along with five assists.
Leading Life Center Academy to victory were Karma Payne and Kiyomi McMiller. Payne scored 25 points along with six rebounds, while McMiller scored 32 points along with six assists and six rebounds. McMiller is crushing the point category: she's posted at least 18 every time she's taken the court this season. Alma Hadziresic was another key contributor, scoring five points along with four steals.
NC GBB Academy National now has a losing record at 12-13. As for Life Center Academy, the win got them back to even at 10-10.
NC GBB Academy National will be playing in front of their home fans against the Fighting Pharaohs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Life Center Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on February 23rd. Mt. Zion Prep Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Warriors in their respective states (the Warriors are ranked eighth in Maryland, while the Warriors are ranked 58th in New Jersey).
