Otis are packing up and heading on the road for the first time this season. They face off against Flagler/Hi-Plains on Friday at Hi-Plains at 7:30 PM. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, Otis and Flagler/Hi-Plains will really light up the scoreboard.
Otis ran circles around Genoa-Hugo last week, and the extra yardage (440.2 yards vs. 242 yards) paid off. Otis took the contest and then some with a 69-18 victory over Genoa-Hugo. With Otis ahead 50-18 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Meanwhile, Flagler/Hi-Plains were fully in charge, breezing past Edison 59-6. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 51-0.
Their wins lifted both teams to an identical 2-0. In their win, Otis relied heavily on senior Bryce Miracle, who rushed for 230 yards and 5 touchdowns; a key strategy for Flagler/Hi-Plains will lie in finding a way to minimize his impact.
