On Saturday, The Houston County Bears faced the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Houston County had to suffer through a rough 27-0 loss at the hands of Thomas County Central. The low total for Houston County limited their streak of high-flying scores to seven in a row.
Antwann Hill jr threw for 63 yards on ten of 19 attempts. On the ground, Ryan Taleb rushed for 84 yards.
Houston County's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for Thomas County Central, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Houston County will head out on the road to face off against Tift County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Tift County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Houston County is ranked 23rd). As for Thomas County Central, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Lee County at 7:30 p.m. Lee County is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
