The Benjamin Buccaneers will face off against the Dwyer Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Benjamin proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over Gulliver Prep. The victory continues a trend for the Buccaneers in their matchups with the Raiders: they've now won four in a row.

CJ Soto made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Benjamin is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-7 otherwise. Soto was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
In other pitching news, Ryan Smith looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits any time he's pitched this season.
Soto wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Johnny Havlicek, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dwyer, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Somerset Academy - Canyons 7-1 on Thursday. Considering the Panthers have won six games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
The team relied heavily on Sully Smith, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Dom Pecoraro, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Dwyer's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Benjamin, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.
Benjamin couldn't quite finish off Dwyer in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 and fell 6-4. Will the Buccaneers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
