The Walthill Blujays will be playing in front of their home fans against the Plainview Pirates at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Walthill unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 61-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wynot. Walthill has not had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ethan Parker, who scored 17 points. Hugo Parker was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Plainview came up short against the Indians on Thursday and fell 62-53. While losing is never fun, Plainview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Indians are ranked 17th).
Walthill's defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-2. As for Plainview, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6.
Walthill beat the Pirates 68-56 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will Walthill repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
