The Dalton Catamounts lost against the Cartersville Hurricanes back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Dalton took a 49-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cartersville.
When it comes to explaining why Dalton lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kobi Cooper. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cooper has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jermichael Craft, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
It was another big night for DJ Cain, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 18 rebounds for Cartersville. Nas Bennett was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Dalton has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Cartersville, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9.
Dalton will look to defend their home court on Friday against Hiram at 8:30 p.m. Hiram has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 343 points over their last five matchups. As for Cartersville, they will head out on the road to square off against Cass at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
