The Centaurus Warriors had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.3 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They claimed a resounding 49-14 win over Gateway on the road. Considering Centaurus has won seven contests by more than 19 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Centaurus was led to victory by Gage Mutz and Chance Wood. Mutz picked up 186 receiving yards and three touchdowns, while Wood threw for 351 yards and five touchdowns while completing 76.2% of his passes. Mutz's longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards. Alexander Wold got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Gateway's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Michael Washington, who rushed for 59 yards and two touchdowns.
Centaurus' win was their third straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 8-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 37.67 points. As for Gateway, their loss dropped their record down to 3-7.
Centaurus will head out on the road to face off against Windsor at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Windsor will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Gateway does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
