Welsh had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the eight-run drubbing they dealt St. Martinville on Thursday. Everything went the Welsh Greyhounds' way against the St. Martinville Tigers as the Welsh Greyhounds made off with an 8-0 victory. The Greyhounds not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since March 26, 2024.

Welsh let Dane Iguess and Brecken Haydel run wild. Iguess scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4, while Haydel went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. That's the most RBI Haydel has posted over his last 13 contests. Another player making a difference was Grant Haydel, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Welsh hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as St. Martinville struck out 12 times.

Welsh has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. With the loss, St. Martinville broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-6.
