Blanchard is on a six-game streak of home wins, while Bethany is on a four-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Blanchard Lions will take on the Bethany Bronchos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Blanchard humbled Bridge Creek with a 40-10 victory. 40 seems to be a good number for Blanchard as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Blanchard got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Carson Cooksey out in front who threw for 195 yards and two touchdowns, and also punched in a rushing score. Another player making a difference was McHale Howell, who rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Meanwhile, everything went Bethany's way against Harrah on Thursday as Bethany made off with a 38-14 victory. Bethany pushed the score to 35-6 by the end of the third, a deficit Harrah cut but never quite recovered from.
Their wins bumped Blanchard to 7-1 and Bethany to 6-2.
Blanchard came up short against Bethany in their previous matchup back in October of 2022, falling 21-12. Will Blanchard have more luck at home instead of on the road?
